Mother West Wind stories that actually end bedtime

We found Old Mother West Wind at the cul-de-sac lending library, and the kids still ask for more while falling asleep like clockwork at home and in hotel rooms.

A few years ago we picked up a Mother West Wind book from the lending library on our cul-de-sac, and it turned out to be the best bedtime stories we have ever read. The tales follow fun characters in the forest, and they also touch nature, humanity, and a lot more without feeling like a lecture.

They are well written and entertaining, and they put our kids to sleep like no other books we have tried. The stories stay interesting the whole way through, and the kids keep asking for more, day after day after day.

We now own many of the books and shorter stories, the Mother West Wind volumes and the other Burgess animal tales that followed that first find, and we cannot get enough. We all love them.

We even bring a thin, travel-size volume when we go so we can read in hotel rooms and elsewhere, something light that still packs the same punch. It rides with the travel toys we keep for those rooms. We love reading them, the kids love hearing them, and they fall asleep like clockwork wherever we are.
